At Kinetic Notebook, your privacy is central to everything we build. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the steps we take to keep your notes and personal data safe.

• Account information: Your email address and password (stored as a hashed value, never in plain text) when you create an account.
• Note content: The notes, attachments, projects, tags, and study materials you create. This is the core of your private workspace.
• Usage data: Basic, non-identifying analytics such as which features are used, to help us improve the product.

Every note, attachment, and piece of content you create belongs to your account alone. Your notes are:

• Never shared. No other user, team, or third party can view your notes.
• Never sold. We do not sell your content or personal data — not now, not ever.
• Encrypted at rest. Content is stored securely and accessible only with your authenticated session.
• Protected by row-level access. Every record is scoped to the account that created it, so your data is isolated by design.

We use your information solely to provide and improve Kinetic Notebook:

• To operate your account and sync your notes across devices.
• To power features you request, such as AI-generated study cards and key takeaways from your own note content.
• To send essential account emails (e.g., welcome and password-reset messages).
• To understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the product.

When you use AI features like study-card generation or key-takeaway extraction, only the specific note content you choose is processed to produce your result. That content is used to serve your request and is not used to train external models or shared with other users.

Your data is stored on secure infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. We apply access controls and row-level security so each account can reach only its own records. We regularly review our security practices, though no system can be guaranteed 100% secure.

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences (such as sidebar layout and theme). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

We rely on trusted infrastructure providers for hosting, authentication, and email delivery. These providers process data only as needed to deliver the service and under appropriate data-protection terms. We do not share your note content with any third party.

• Access and export: You can view and copy your notes at any time.
• Deletion: You can delete individual notes or your entire account. Deleted content is removed and cannot be recovered.
• Control: You decide what to write, what to keep, and what to delete — it's all in your hands.

Kinetic Notebook is intended for students and learners. The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product evolves. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email.
